About the course
This course is designed for anyone working or wanting to work on sites where cranes are operating. It is based on industry best practice, equipment on the worksite and relevant company procedures.
As the foundation unit for all future crane operator and dogman and gantry qualifications, the completion of this unit is an essential first step towards further training and establishes the pre- requisite for the following courses:
- Overhead Gantry Crane
- Knowledge of hazards, hazard control, and lift planning
- Preparation for and slinging regular loads safely
- Knowledge of lifting gear and working load limit (WLL) tables
- 30072: Demonstrate and apply knowledge of slinging regular loads safely
